You are correct slab is currently just completed in mine and there is no step down and garage and internal house is at the same level.
Garage floor minimum step down.
Garage floors are commonly built with a step down from the main house floor level.
I also like the idea of being able to hose the garage out without flooding the house with water.
I would never provide drawings to a builder or custom client that does not have a minimum of a 4 step down to the garage.
Determining the angle of your floor s slope provides a simple method to level work surfaces in the garage.
Personally i think i would feel uncomfortable without the step down.

The timber floor joists must be sized correctly depending on their length.
Accessibility from the garage is not required even in multi family product that clearly falls under ada guidelines.
The existing floor level to the house may be quite high above ground and in cases such as this it is more practicable to use timber joists with a void underneath.
Thought of sharing some experience about your concern in not having a step down to your garage in monaco q1.
A minimum gap of 150mm should be kept between the existing concrete ground and the underside of the timber.
Instead code now simply requires that the floor be gently sloped toward the garage doors.
Apparently the code authors feel that the slope provides an adequate safety margin.
So is a good idea in setting out to mark exactly where the garage is going to be constructed so the ground can be excavated deeper.
In phoenix there is generally a 4 step grade change in the garage floor usually 4 5 from the door into a home for a slab on grade.
